Brief Bio

Barrie has a BS in biology from North Carolina State University and an MS in Library Science from the UNC School of Information and Library Science. She has a background in information services, online resources and web systems development, and most recently managed HSL's Application Development Services Department. Her current research interests include bioinformatics methods and tools, information discovery and data management needs of scientists and clinicians, information systems development, and collaboration-enhancing technologies. Barrie manages the HSL-RENCI Collaboration Center and supports library services for bioinformatics described on the Bioinformatics@HSL page.
