The Health Sciences Library acquires books, journals, computer software and databases, and a variety of non-print materials for patron use. These materials are organized into several collections or "Locations" depending on the type of material, use of the material, and need for availability. Most collections are classified; that is, items are arranged by subject, using the National Library of Medicine Classification, fifth edition (see our Browser's Guide for more information on this classification scheme). Materials can be found within a Location by their call number. Other collections are arranged alphabetically by title.
All titles in the collection are cataloged and searchable by using the Catalog. The catalog gives a Location, call number (or other shelving information), and holdings information about each item.
