Drug Information Resources

Drug information resources are found in the section of the book shelf labeled "Drugs".

Information about specific drugs is a common request. It is very important that the person know the name of the drug, and how to spell it. If you give a client the drug book to look up information herself, be sure to remind her that very different drugs often have similar names.

The main drug reference book available in WHIC is:

Consumer Drug Reference Cover Publisher's description

The Consumer Drug Reference, published by Consumer Reports in partnership with the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), provides unbiased, authoritative information on more than 11,000 drugs. It includes vitamins and minerals and the newest drugs. There is a full-color identification chart of pills and tablets.

The web resource, MedlinePlus, also provides online Drug Information from the USP.
