Maurice Porot (1912-1997)Thesis: Les intoxications arsenicales par le vin et les produits viticoles. Thesis (D.M.)--Université d'Alger, 1938. Excerpts PDF Maurice Porot was born on September 8, 1912 in Bourgoin (Isère). He received his Doctorat en Médecine from the Université d'Alger in 1938. He was the son of Dr. Antoine Porot, who was a professor in the faculté de médecine in Algiers. Maurice was close friends with his classmate Jean Sutter, who was Antoine Porot's protégé. Porot interned at the Hôpitaux d'Alger and then taught at the university (1958). He eventually became a professor at the faculté de medicine in Clermont-Ferrand and chair of psychiatry and medical psychology (1965). He wrote a number of books on psychiatry, particularly in children. He was decorated an Officier des Palmes académiques. Maurice Porot died in June 1997.
