Description:
The Document Delivery Service provides free photocopies of journal articles and book chapters available at the UNC Libraries. It is designed to substitute for the self-service photocopying that you are able to do when on-campus. ALL students in the Division of Health Affairs are eligible to use this service when they are temporarily off campus for:
| clerkships | | electives |
| clinical rotations | | extramural rotations |
| externships | | internships |
| field placements | | |
Costs:
No charge for articles owned by any UNC-Chapel Hill Library. There is a $5.00 fee for articles not owned by the UNC Libraries (plus a $5.00 rush fee if requested).
Turn-around Time:
Requests are normally processed within 24 to 48 hours. Please indicate if material is needed for urgent patient care: these requests will be processed in 2-4 hours. It will take longer for items not owned by UNC-Chapel Hill libraries, usually 1-2 weeks.
Limitations:
- Only UNC-Chapel Hill Division of Health Affairs students temporarily off campus are eligible for this service.
- This service is in effect while you are on temporary off-campus assignment only.
- Due to the shortness of these temporary assignments, this service provides photocopies only. Loans of books or audiovisuals not included.
- Due to copyright regulations, this service can only provide one article from each journal issue or one chapter from each book.
- If the requested material is not available from UNC-Chapel Hill libraries, we can order it from another library for a fee of $5.00 per filled request. Check with AHEC library staff to identify an appropriate substitute.
Instructions:
- If possible, please check the UNC-Chapel Hill Catalog to confirm that the Health Sciences Library owns the title you are requesting.
- Submit one ILLiad Form for each article being requested.
