HELP HSL EVALUATE NEW PRODUCTS

The HSL website has a new page listing electronic products that are being evaluated for purchase. The information on this page changes frequently, and the link can be found in the "News" area of the website. Trial access is usually available for 30 to 60 days and your feedback on these new products is very important to help us offer the information you need for research, study and clinical practice. Please check the Evaluate New Products page regularly and review items that are in your field. Brief descriptions and trial ending dates are listed for each product.

The following items are currently included on the New Products page:
Future Drugs Trial ends January 22, 2007
Future Medicine Trial ends January 22, 2007
MDConsult/FIRSTConsult Trial ends March 1, 2007

For complete details and to give feedback, go to: http://www.hsl.unc.edu/evaluation/trials.cfm

GET A ROOM!

Need a place to meet for study groups, projects, or classes? You can reserve a room by using our online reservation system - just go to: http://www.hsl.unc.edu/AboutLib/Building/reservationforms.cfm

SHHH…

Have you heard about our quiet zone? Many of you have asked for a dedicated quiet space in the library. Beginning in January, the 4th floor will be designated as our official "quiet zone." Keeping cell phone ringers off, conversations (in low voices) in study rooms only and headphones turned down will help create an environment where everyone can study more effectively. Encourage your peers to be mindful of these guidelines or get help from library staff if needed. Happy studying!

COME WORK WITH US!

Need some post-holiday cash? Check out the jobs available at HSL, including Web Developer, Research Assistant, and part-time employees for the Friend's Café. For more information, go to: http://www.hsl.unc.edu/AboutLib/employment/temppos.cfm

TELL US YOUR STORIES!

We are looking for HSL users (students, faculty, researchers, community members) to participate in a project by telling us about your use of the library, how an HSL staff person helped you, where is your favorite spot in the library, and more. If you have a story to share, please contact Susan Siegel: sysiegel@med.unc.edu. You might be selected to have your story and photo featured in our publications!

HSL E-NEWS is a monthly publication of the UNC-Chapel Hill Health Sciences Library. For more information on this publication, contact Susan Siegel, Communications Coordinator: sysiegel@med.unc.edu, 919-966-0944.
