Downloading from CINAHL into EndNote

Two steps are needed to transfer records from CINAHL into your EndNote library

First, perform your search and download your references into a specially formatted file

Second, import the records from your saved file into your EndNote library using the Reference Manager (RIS) import filter

STEP 1: Downloading from EBSCO CINAHL

Perform your search in CINAHL via EBSCOhost

Select the reference(s) you want to save by clicking on the gray folder ( "Add") on the right side of the screen



After making your selections, click on the Folder has items link just above your results list



Click the Export link to save these records



On the Export Manager screen, be sure to select Direct Export to EndNote, etc. Then click the Save button



From your browser's File menu, select Save to Disk. The file will be named delivery.ris

STEP 2: Importing into EndNote

Go to EndNote and open your library

Click on the File menu and select Import. You will see the Import dialog box

Click on Choose File and select the file you saved from CINAHL

Under Import Option, use your drop-down arrow to select Reference Manager (RIS)

Under Duplicates, select Discard Duplicates

Click on Import

Your references should appear in your Endnote library
