Journal Cancellations 2009: Timeline

Journals must be re-ordered and paid for several months before the beginning of a new subscription year, which usually starts January 1. The review to identify possible cancellations must take place during the spring and early summer months.

Early May 2009Post info about Journals Review 2009 on HSL website
May 2009 Identify potential journal cancellation candidates
Mid-June 2009Post list of potential cancellations on HSL website and invite public comment; review feedback
July 15, 2009Deadline for feedback
Mid-July 2009Finalize list of cancellations; determine prioritized tiers for cancelling according to budget situation
Aug 2009Initiate journal cancellations
