Tema #3: Frecuentemente la vivienda disponible para la gente de bajos recursos es de baja calidad. (muestra al grupo una foto de un trailer en malas condiciones)

Imaginese que Usted viva en este trailer. Despierta en la mañana y va a bañarse pero no hay agua caliente. Es la cuarta ves que pasa en este mes. Ud. Piensa, "Si solo el dueño podria componer estos problemas pero se que no lo hara. Nunca lo hace." El dueño no habla el mismo idioma que ud. y ud. esta precupado si se queja demasiado podria perder su vivencia. Hay muchas personas dispuestas a tomar su lugar en el trailer. Cuando empezó a vivir en el trailer estaba preocupado por los ollos en la paredes y la cañeria pero el dueno fue el único que le rentó porque todos los otros duenos requerían cheqeo de crédito y otros formularios que no pudo llenar. Mientras está calentando agua para el baño de su niña pensaba sobre lo que podrías hacer para resolover su situación si no puede comunicarse bien con el dueno o cualquier otra persona en una posición de ayuda. Se siente Usted sin esperanza y ya no sabe que hacer.

Theme #3: Housing available to low-income community members is frequently of poor quality. (show the group a photo of a dilapidated trailer)

Imagine you live in this trailer. You wake up and go take a shower but there's no hot water for the fourth time this month. You think, "I wish the landlord would fix this but I know he won't. He never does." The landlord doesn't speak your language and your scared that if you ask for too much he might kick you out and find new tenants. There's plenty of people who could fill your spot. When you first got the place you were concerned about the holes in the walls and the plumbing but he was the only one who would rent to you because everyone else required a credit check and other paperwork you couldn't fill out. As your heating some water on the stove for your kid's shower you think about how you could possibly resolve your situation if you can't communicate well with the landlord or anyone else who could assist you. You feel helpless and don't know what to do.
