Early Learning Center

The educational target is to address the developmental needs of children through the age of 5. The Center has funds to supply tuition for low-income families. Specifically, this agency is seeking to enroll Latino children into the assistance program and in the Center overall.

Serves the Latino community of Fuquay-Varina in many capacities, including migrant health care and ESL classes. Furthermore, a Spanish mass is performed once on Sunday afternoons, a time during which many Latinos gather to worship. Transportation is provided to migrant farm workers for health needs and for attendance at mass.

Provides an array of services to the community of Fuquay-Varina, including an after-school tutorial program for children ages 8 to 12 who receive tutoring and a hot meal, a Meals-on-Wheels program providing meals to senior adults, and other opportunities. Children ride directly from their schools to the Center on school buses. The Center is aiming to recruit more Latino children and senior adults to participate in their programs.

Provides health and clinical services in the areas of family medicine, school health, prenatal care, WIC (nutrition education and grocery vouchers), women's health, migrant health, HIV/STD testing and counseling, immunizations, and mental health/substance abuse. In addition, the SRC has services for crisis intervention, economic assistance, environmental health, register of deeds, and employment/job counseling.
