Public Health Research: Tools for Organizing, Managing & Disseminating Information

Part of the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Public Health Office of Research Seminar Series

Organized by:
Mellanye Lackey, MSI and Julia Shaw-Kokot, MSLS - Health Sciences Library and Laurie Ringaert, Office of Research, School of Public Health

Background: As we develop research proposals or develop materials to disseminate research results we need tools to assist us to make the process as streamlined as possible. Many people are involved in these processes: researchers, staff, and research administrators. All need to know how to make their lives easier in this process. The Health Sciences Library and the Office of Research have partnered together to develop this package of seminars that will give needed knowledge to anyone working on proposals, posters, articles, and literature reviews.

Goal of the series: To introduce participants to tools to streamline the process of managing and organizing information for proposal writing, literature reviews, development of posters and writing articles for publication.

Course Structure: There are six 1.5 hour introductory sessions in the series taking place over the next four months.

Certificate of Completion: Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the series. Participants must attend 5/6 sessions to receive a certificate.

Target audience: SPH Researchers, Staff and Research Administrators

Instructors: A highly specialized team of information specialists has been organized for this series.
