Xiaomei Gu , HSL Graduate Assistant
Xiaomei is the Graduate Assistant for Users Services at HSL. She is currently enrolled as a Master's student in the UNC-CH School of Information and Library Science. Xiaomei has a background in dentistry and biomedical research. She is interested in medical reference and instruction librarianship and scholarly communication.
Bob Ladd, Educational Media Specialist
Bob has a background in instructional design, educational psychology, graphics, photography, and technical writing. Bob designs and develops online tutorials for HSL, and frequently conducts consultations and workshops in areas such as digital imaging, print design (posters, brochures, etc.), online design, and video editing.
Lisa Philpotts, Instructional Assistant
Lisa has a background in nursing, public libraries, and college instruction. She creates online tutorials, conducts one-on-one consultations, and teaches workshops in print media design. Her interests include health literacy and teaching patrons how to effectively communicate health information to their peers and the public.
K.T. Vaughan, Media Design Studio Team Leader
With her background in plant genetics, chemistry, environmental sciences, and public policy,
K.T. brings a unique perspective to the Health Sciences Library and the School of Pharmacy that
enables her to work in partnership with a very diverse clientele. Her research interests
include the information habits of scientists and clinicians and the integration of informatics into
research, teaching, and clinical practice.
