and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) and the National Library of Medicine
(NLM) have partnered to provide CAM on PubMed, a special subset the
PubMed database.
- Alt-HealthWatch
Alt-HealthWatch provides in-depth
coverage across the full spectrum of subject areas covered by
complementary and alternative (or integrative) medicine. This database
provides full text for articles from more than 180 international
journals, reports, proceedings, association and consumer newsletters,
plus hundreds of pamphlets, booklets, special reports, original
research and book excerpts.
- AMED (Alternative Medicine)
Compiled by the British Library
Health Care Information Service, AMED provides citations to information
on alternative treatments to conventional medicine, including
complementary medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy,
rehabilitation, podiatry, palliative care, and others. AMED contains
basic bibliographic records for relevant articles from over 500
journals, with the scope of coverage being mainly European. Many of the
journals included in AMED are not indexed by other biomedical sources.
- HerbMed
- Herb Med is an electronic herbal
database - it provides access to the scientific data underlying the use
of herbs for health. It is an impartial, evidence-based information
resource provided by the nonprofit Alternative Medicine Foundation,

- Originally funded by the U.S. Department
of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information
Administration (NTIA) and matching grants, and in collaboration with
these early partners, NOAH strove to establish itself as a unique
responsible and authoritative bilingual health information site,
dedicated to an underserved population of health consumers, many of
